And you reminiscing today, fantastic! Here you are making comments about the band 40 years later, along with persons like myself now hitting 80. Ross Wilson wrote fantastic and believable songs and had a unique voice to suit the tempo required to deliver them. You pick up something a little different each time you Rolex and listen, You go what? Did I hear that correctly, better listen again, he didn’t say the words inside the G….. nah surely not! talk about reminisce or reflect and wink at the moon!

What a gorgeous woman indeed. Oozes sex appeal, sucker for that short blond hair and those fabulous legs. I feel like a cigarette yes I’m burning is an understatement! Who the heck is she? Now in her mid to late sixties, I bet she can still make one feel like a cigarette and burning.

Yes, the Summer of 81, remember it very well indeed. Perth was running hot and everyone living the good life. No one seen the cold around the corner, which hit like an Arctic wind in the Winter of 82. Still We shall remember the good times and let the rest drift away.

The lyrics is and the music never grows old, just a timeless period in our lives. The Artist gave us something to remain young in our minds, even when the mirror reminds people otherwise, except myself of course. Just can’t understand why that gorgeous young thing who looks very familiar walks right past me. I’m sure it was the girl in Frankston who said, come surfer boy take my hand, let’s go down to the sand. Surely I haven’t changed that much in 60 years? And gave Ross the idea for the song later in 5he 70s. Perhaps, it’s the haircut being too short. Wow, what a dream, her granddaughter sure looked like her.

Ah here we go again. While it didn’t allow one to reminisce in the same manner as “come said the boy” it had its own unique message. Good lyrics always deliver the message and a great voice with the right music gives longevity.

Simple fact is that this is one of the top 3 Aussie songs ever! It is as applicable today as it was 40 years ago. Every guys dream then as it is today. One big factor is that Australia is not the same today. Being a teenager in Frankston in the early 1960s was really different, as the town changed, people grew up and moved elsewhere within the Bayside area, Interstate and even over seas. Rolling into the 1970s through to the early 1980s as an adult was a whole different experience. Music like this allows everyone from that Timezone to drift back and reminisce about the old days good and yes no so good, which is life. just dwell on the good things as life is far too short and enjoy. Should be in your early 20s and reading this, it’s a guarantee you shall look back in time, just like us older guys and gals and say, if only and it’s ok if you don’t believe it right now. Just enjoy it while you can. The only advise I shall give you is always love your Mum and respect your Dad, and look after your own family as best you can.

Going to Where it belongs this year haven't been just going Ross boss WA boy Broome

I was transferred to work in Newcastle in 1981. Stranger in a new town but made some great friends and one night we all decided to go see a new band playing at the Lake Macquarie Yacht Club. They were called Mondo Rock. Can't believe how good that was. What a fantastic night. What a fantastic band. Loved them ever since and when I hear these now OLD tracks it takes me back to those memories. ❤
